Solar Photovoltaic
Getting solar energy from the sun, in the UK???
This year has seen a dramatic increase of Solar Photovoltaic installations (PV) across the UK, why?
What is Solar Photovoltaic (PV)?
Solar PV comes in modules, these modules are made up of cells, the modules are connected together to form an array. When the sunlight shines on the modules the cells warm causing electrons to be knocked out of place and start flowing. This creates DC electricity. To get this electricity into the supply you need to convert the DC electricity into AC electricity, this is done through an inverter.
The Installation.
Before we commence an installation a cost free assessment of the property is done to ensure the suitability of the roof position. Depending on the size and ease of the installation it should take between one and two days . A typical system will be made up of eight-sixteen modules. These modules are mounted on the roof using special fixings to sit the module in the line of the roof slope. Most South East, South or South West facing roofs are suitable.
This year has seen a dramatic increase of Solar Photovoltaic installations (PV) across the UK, why?
- The installation of a PV system is one of the best financial investments you can make.
- Surprisingly the UK receives a large amount of solar radiation each year.
- Helping to save the Earth is very rewarding.
