Sockets and rewires
It’s hard to imagine how we ever managed without electrical lighting. So when you’re extending into a space with no electricity, or when existing lighting fails or becomes unsafe, we know you need a fast, efficient service. We can rewire and repair electrical lighting and install new lights, even in difficult, out-of-the-way places.
Thinking of renewing your current lighting systems? LED lighting can significantly lower your bills and CO2 emissions. As qualified LED installers, we are experts in lighting design and installation. Mitton Electrical works closely with you to renew your current lighting systems and help to find the best option to reduce energy consumption, lower CO2 emissions and minimise maintenance costs. We install LED Lighting systems in homes, hotels, offices, shops and large industrial premises, and can assist companies and private individuals in making the switch to LED lighting technology.
Electric storage heaters are a useful way to save money on gas-powered central heating, as well as an environmentally friendly option. They work by collecting cheaper off-peak electricity, then storing it for the evenings and daytime. We install the latest, most energy-efficient models to help you get even better value for money.
Smoke and Heat Detection
Protecting your home or business from fire is a key concern. We stock and install alarm systems to suit all needs, premises and budgets, and we’re happy to visit your property to advise on the best systems for you. From fire-wire system installations for warehouses and building complexes to smaller heat and smoke sensors for homes, we can expertly install any type of fire alarm system and connect them to the mains for guaranteed reliability.
Periodic Inspection Testing
Electrical Installation Condition reports – Safety check
Although there are no moving parts electrical installations deteriorate with age and use. They should therefore be inspected and tested at regular intervals to check whether they are in a safe satisfactory condition. These safety checks are commonly referred to as ‘periodic inspection and testing’. You should have a periodic inspection on your home every 10 years or change of ownership. If you are a landlord you should have this inspection at the start of the tenancy and every 5 years. For business owners we recommend a full inspection every 5 years.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
Portable appliance testing (PAT) is the term used to describe the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use. Most electrical safety defects can be found by visual examination but some types of defect can only be found by testing.
For your company to comply with current regulations it is advised to carry out PAT testing periodically. Mitton Electrical offer expert advice along with competitive rates.
